Health and the endocannabinoid system of the human body
The endocannabinoid system is an innate physiological mechanism (such as, for instance, the nervous system) and thus plays a key role in regulating many of the body´s natural functions. The the primary function of the endocannabinoid system is to maintain homeostasis - the natural balance of the body´s internal environment, needed for numerous bodily functions.
For the body to function properly, the endocannabinoid system requires its own set of endocannabinoids, the best known of whcih is anandamide. It was the Czech scientist Lumír Hanuš who made a significant contribution to its discovery. In a body lacking in endocannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system is not working properly. This can result in health problems. Many studies have shown that the phytocannabinoids CBD and CBG found in the cannabis plant, which bind to the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, are compatible with the endocannabinoid system and support its proper regulation. Simply put, the cannabinoids in our products can naturally replace those lacking in the body for whatever reason.
Homeostasis is the balance of internal systems. When constantly distressed, suffer ing from a chronic illness or lack quality sleep, the balance is upset and the body may cease to function properly.
The lapse it proper function can manifest itself in more or less serious health problems. Cannabinoids have been shown to also bind to receptors other than the cannabinoid system. Thus, cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant simulate the function of endocannabinoids and help keep the endocannabinoid system in balance.
